Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information TheSteelOS collects when you use our website (thesteelos.com) and products — SteelOS Trade, Fabricate and Mill — how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain because the point of the product is to make your business legible to you, not the other way round.

Who we are

TheSteelOS provides an AI-first operating system for steel trading, fabrication and manufacturing. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means TheSteelOS. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@thesteelos.com.

Information we collect

• Information you give us. When you sign up for a product or request early access, you provide details such as your company name, your name, work email, country, business type, team size and phone number.
• Business data you enter in the product. If you create an account on SteelOS Trade or Fabricate, the operational data you record — customers, suppliers, inventory, orders, invoices, production records and related documents — is processed to provide the service to you.
• Documents you upload. Files you submit to AI features (for example a mill test certificate, purchase order or work order) are processed to extract their contents for you.
• Technical information. Our servers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) needed to operate and secure the service.

Cookies and local storage

Our marketing website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. The only thing we store in your browser is your light/dark theme preference, kept locally on your device — it is never sent to us. The product applications use a small number of strictly necessary cookies or tokens to keep you signed in.

How we use information

• To create and operate your account and provide the product’s features.
• To respond to early-access requests, onboard you, and provide support.
• To send service messages — for example a welcome email or a security notice.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your business data to advertise to you.

How information is shared

We share information only with service providers who help us run the product — such as our cloud hosting and transactional email provider — and only to the extent needed to deliver the service. These providers are bound to handle the data on our instructions. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data separation

Each customer’s business data is isolated by tenant. Your data is yours: it is not pooled with, or exposed to, other customers.

Security

We protect information in transit with TLS encryption, restrict access on a need-to-know basis, and design our systems to fail closed on tenant boundaries. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your operating data with the seriousness a business record deserves.

Retention

We keep account and business data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution needs. You can ask us to delete your data — see below.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you non-essential email. Write to hello@thesteelos.com and we will act on your request in line with applicable law.

Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
